One small commemorative plate of the ship locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The round plate is made of thin, glazed white china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a scalloped surface and edge. The rim surface has a pale red spray-paint finish. The center of the plate has a multi-color drawing of a passenger steamship in the locks. Black printed text beneath the drawing reads "Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., North West [of the Northern Steamship Company] Entering Poe Lock." No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
