Plate, Commemorative

One plate that commemorates of the launch of the steamship, Huron, at Collingwood, Ontario. The round plate is made of glazed white china. It has a curved rim with a decorative scalloped edge and a slightly-curved bottom. The top surface of the outer 0.5" of the rim is painted with a slightly iridescent gold-colored paint. The inside rim area is decorated with five stylized raised fleur de lis images. An oval-shaped, sepia-toned drawing at the center of the plate depicts the launch of the steamship. Sepia-toned text beneath the drawing reads "Launch of Str. Huron, Collingwood." No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
