Plate, Dessert

One dessert plate from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS Orinoco, of the Quebec Steamship Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It has a flat, slightly-upturned rim and a thickened outer edge. A narrow red stripe with a small oak leaf pattern encircles the outer edge of the rim. At the center of the plate, a red image of a steamship is shown inside a circular ribbon band along with text that reads "The Quebec Steamship Company." The underside of the plate is stamped with red text that reads "Made By John Maddock & Sons, Ltd., England, for Kniffin & Demorest Co., New York."
