Plate, Dessert

One dessert plate from the dining room of the bulk carrier, SS E. J. BLOCK, of the Inland Steel Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It has a narrow, slightly-upturned rim and a thickened outer edge. A red stripe encircles the outer edge of the rim and an image of the company smokestack is shown at a gap in the stripe. A rgray diamond with a red letter, "I," can be seen at the center of the smokestack. The underside is stamped with an Indian logo and green text that reads "Shenango China, New Castle, PA."
