Plate, Soup

One large soup plate from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS City of Erie, of the Cleveland & Buffalo Transit Company (C&B Line). The round plate is made of white glazed china. It has a decorative, slightly curved, upturned rim with a scalloped edge. Narrow gold-colored stripes and small leaves of an Art Nouveau style encircle the plate along the scalloped edge. A decorative, multicolor shield/helmet/crown emblem with floral swags is stamped on one area of the rim. Gold-colored text on the shield reads "C&B Line." The underside is stamped with dark green text that reads "O.P. Co. [Onondaga Pottery Company], Syracuse China." Also, a small circle with the number, "78," inside is stamped on the china.
