Platter

One small platter from the dining room of the crane ship, MV Clifford F. Hood, of the United States Steel Corporation. The oval-shaped platter is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a thickened outer edge. Narrow blue stripes encircle the platter along the outer and inner edges of the rim. At a break in the inner stripe at the center of one of the long sides, blue text reads "M.V. C.F. Hood." On the opposite rim, the blue "USS" company logo is stamped. The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Mayer China, Beaver Falls, PA," and "452."
