Platter

One small platter from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS Illinois, of the Northern Michigan Transportation Company. The oval-shaped platter is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a thickened outer edge. Two narrow magenta red stripes encircle the rim along the midpoint. At a break in the stripes at the center of one of the long sides, a magenta red "NMT Co." logo is stamped. The underside is stamped with dark green text that reads, "Burley & Co., Chicago," and "Made in Germany." Also, the number, "148," is stamped on the china.
