Radio

Early broadcast radio receiver for home use, homemade as part of a kit. The cabinet was made by Jewett Parkay and is made from dark walnut. The front of the cabinet has a slate panel that holds the bakelite knobs that are used for tuning. The top of the cabinet has a hinged lid that opens to reveal the receiver parts, with all of the five original tubes missing. Still inside the cabinet are the original honeycomb coil condensers attached to variable condensers. Inside the lid in gold lettering is the cabinet company's logo, "Jewett Parkay Radio Cabinet." The original parts were made by the Federal Telegraph and Telephone Company out of New York, while the cabinet was sourced locally from the Jewett Parkay Company (see notes).
