1 - Ribbon worn by United Spanish War Veteran (USWV), Joseph Hoffman. The red and yellow vertically-striped ribbon has a cross emblem with gold lettering: "20th Annual Encampment U.S.W.V. Detroit 1927", a paper tag on the back shows: "This Badge Manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. Makers of Badges, Buttons, Banners, Signs, and Advertsing Novelties. Main Office and Factory Newark New Jersey."
