One muzzle-loading percussion rifle with a double-set trigger. The rifle has a 0.38 caliber octagonal barrel and a walnut wood half stock with brass and steel fittings. The top surface of the barrel is stamped with name of the gunsmith, "C. [Caspar] Berger, Detroit." An engraved name on the lockplate, "G. C---ch-," is mostly scratched out and is unreadable. The lockplate, trigger guard, top of barrel, and patchbox are all engraved with decorative scrollwork designs. The wood stock is cross-hatched at the grip.
