Ring, Life

One life ring from the steamship, SS Henry La Liberte. The life ring is made of molded white styrofoam. It has a 29-inch outside diameter and a 17-inch diameter inside opening. Painted black lettering on one side shows "Henry La Liberte." The life ring has a large loop of braided white polypropylene along the outer perimeter which has been attached to the ring with four bands of white polypropylene fabric in order to form four short grab loops. Also, a separate short length of braided manila rope has been spliced in a loop to the life ring and has a 5-inch diameter brass canister attached at the other end. The canister has embossed text on the side that reads "Life-Lite, Self Igniting Water Light, U.S.C.G. Approval No. 160.012/4/1, Mfg. By Harbak, Inc., Wyandanch, N.Y."
