Sculpture

Christ & Lost Sheep

One plaster prototype sculpture that depicts Jesus holding a small sheep. The plaster has an antique finish that has a pale yellow tone with light brown accents. The surface is mostly smooth. The sculpture shows a figure of Jesus, who is wearing a plain robe, and is cradling a small sheep in his arms. His head is slightly downcast as He looks at the sheep. The sculpture includes a plain square, plaster base that has been mounted on a larger square, walnut wood base. The wood base has a beveled top edge and has been finished with clear lacquer or varnish. The artist has signed his name, "Edward Chesney," on the top surface of the plaster base at the back. An engraved brass plate on the front of the wood base reads "Christ & Lost Sheep, by Edward Chesney."
