Top O' the Heap

One bronze sculpture of children at play. The brown metal sculpture has a green patina and a smooth finish. It shows the figures of six nude children who are all clambering over each other in order to reach the top of a human pyramid. One young girl is standing at the top and has raised her left arm as a sign of victory. The sculpture includes a thin, irregular, oval-shaped bronze base that is mounted on a similarly-shaped mahogany wood base. The mahogany wood has a decorative routered edge and has been finished with clear lacquer or varnish. The artist has signed his name, "© Edward Chesney," on the top surface of the bronze base. Also, an engraved brass plate on the front of the base reads "Top O' the Heap by Edward Chesney."
