Set, Tableware

One 5-piece set of accessory tableware utensils which may have been used by the ship owner or namesake of the bulk carrier, SS ELTON S. HOYT II, of Pickands Mather & Company. The matching sterling silver set was made by Gorham in the "Fairfax" pattern. The set consists of 2 iced teaspoons, one large butter serving knife, one individual butter knife, and one seafood/relish fork. The tapered handles all have a matching traditional design and are engraved with the name, "Hoyt," at the upper end. Handle undersides are stamped "Gorham Sterling." The utensils are all held in a fitted protective light tan/gray fabric pouch.
