Shoe

One pair of woman's soft white leather shoes, straights, ankle height, with no heels, laces in front,( 15 eyelets) rounded toes, and pink and white satin ribbon rosettes in front. Rosettes have small silver metal buckle in center. Lined with white linen. Kid soiled, part of silk lace missing, but generally good condition.
Associated with the family of John Mullet (or Mullett), ( b. Vermont, 1786) married Lucy Henry (b. c1795), 1814 They had 11 children, including 5 daughters. Officer in Buffalo Home Guards, War of 1812. Came to Detroit, 1818, as a tailor. Appointed by Gen. Cass Surveyor of Michigan, 1821, Appointed U.S. Deputy Surveyor, 1822. Engaged in Government surveys until 1849.
