Snuffbox

One sterling silver snuff box that belonged to Benjamin Franklin Hawkins Witherell. It is slightly curved and has a hinged door on the side that curves inward. There are plain edges and breaks in the floral design where the names of his wives and children are inscribed.

It has inscribed on it the names of "B.F.H.Witherall" (himself) and "Mary A. Sprague Witherell, died Aug. 4th 1834" (his first wife who died of cholera), "Delia Ingersoll Witherell, died April 27, 1847" (his second wife), "Casandra S. E. Witherell" (his third wife), and his children, "Julia A.", "Harriet M.", "Charles I.", "James B.", and "Martha E., died Sept. 29 1846."
