Souvenir
One souvenir cross-section of a tree limb that was taken from "Pontiac's Tree" which was located at the site of the Battle of Bloody Run. The 2.75-inch thick, 6-inch diameter cross-section shows the darkened (elm?) wood end grain on two faces with bark around the perimeter. A paper label on one of the faces has black typewritten text that is partially readable and shows "From the so called --- tree --- named after Chief Pontiac who fought the famous battle of 'Bloody Run'; the tree stood near the corner of Jefferson and Leib, Detroit, Mich. In the tree many arrowheads and bullets were found."
