Souvenir

One souvenir plate from the passenger steamship, SS South American, of the Georgian Bay LIne (Chicago, Duluth and Georgian Bay Transit Company). The round plate is made of glazed white china. It has a flat, slightly-upturned rim that is decorated with five multi-color transfer images which all have a nautical theme. The center area of the plate has a multi-color transfer image that shows a port view of the ship underway in fair weather. Black script text above the image reads "S.S. South American." No manufacturer's names or marks are shown.
