One commemorative spoon from the Ernst Kern Company 40th anniversary celebration. The silverplate spoon has an oval-shaped bowl with a raised head/shoulders image of the founder, Ernst Kern, at the center. Raised text adjacent to the image reads "Kern's Founder's Month, 1883-1923" and "The Ernst Kern Company." The spoon handle has a rounded end and tapers slightly in width at the bowl. The handle has a decorative edge with a floral/scroll pattern along the center top. Raised text on the back of the handle reads "Pat. Apd. For" and "R.C. Co. [Rogers Cutlery Company]."
