Table, Side

One decorative side table of a plain French rococo style. The curved table top and lower shelf are made of a fine-grained wood that has been stained a medium brown color. Both the top and the lower shelf have rounded edges. The table has four curved legs that are made of brass and resemble twisted rope. They bow outward at the top and are also covered at the top with a decorative leaf design. At the bottom, the legs have a small curved decoration and claw feet. Both the table top and lower shelf are fitted with strips of decorative brass filigree edging along the underside edge. An adhesive paper label on the underside of the table top shows "Detroit Sheet Metal & Brass Works, Detroit, Michigan, Date: 6/22/1893, Order Number: 6625, Table Number: 290, Finish: Gold [?]."
