One "Minicom II TDD [Telecommunications Device for the Deaf]," Serial No. 65627. The flat, rectangular device has a pale yellow plastic housing with two black rubber pads at the top for placement of a telephone receiver. A single-line text screen is located across the middle and a typewriter-style keyboard is located at the bottom. The name, "Minicom II by Ultratec" is stamped in white text at the right side. A power cord plug is located on the left side of the housing and a black on/off rocker switch is located at the lower right corner of the keyboard. An adhesive label on the underside lists the product name, serial number, and other details. It was made by "Ultratec, Inc., P.O. Box 4062, Madison, WI 53711." The device allowed deaf persons to communicate by text over telephone lines.
