Teapot
One small teapot from the dining room of the bulk carrier, SS Philip D. Block, of the Inland Steel Company fleet. The pot is made of heavyweight glazed china of a bone/ivory color. It has a curved spout, a wide depressed top with a removable circular lid, and a small curved handle with a flat thumb rest. The sides are fairly straight with an inward curve at the top and a slight outward flare at the base. The circular lid has a narrow lift handle at the center with a red stripe on top and a red stripe along the outer edge. A narrow red stripe encircles the outside top edge of the teapot rim and a narrow gray stripe is located about 3/8" beneath it. A red diamond-shaped company emblem, which shows the name, "Inland," in bone/ivory-colored text, is stamped below the stripes on one side of the teapot. The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Albert Pick Co., Inc., Chicago," and "Made in U.S.A., E7."
