Tiller

Tiller from the lifeboat of the steamer CARL D. BRADLEY with a Bradley Transportation Line tag. Wood painted gray with ship's name stenciled in black. The BRADLEY sank in northern Lake Michigan on November 18, 1958. Two crewmen were rescued by CG Cutter SUNDEW, but thirty three men perished.

White tag from Bradley Transportation Line is attached to tiller. Handwritten on back is "Item 'I' page 8, 4-27-59 Report," possibly related to an investigation after the sinking. Front of tag is printed "Bradley Transportation Line, Michigan Limestone Division, United States Steel Corporation, Rogers City, Michigan."
