Towel, Hand

One hand towel from one of the railroad car ferries of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway. The towel is made of white cotton fabric. The long edges are woven and the ends have rolled and sewn hems. A 3/4-inch wide blue band is woven across the length of the towel at the center and has white text that reads "Chesapeake & Ohio Ry." Narrow white woven bands are located across the width of the towel near the ends. A small tag at one of the hems reads "Morton Textiles, Inc., Chicago, Ill., All Cotton," and "By Cannon Mills."
