Mechanical sand box toy made of tin. Manufactured by Stevens & Brown Mfg. Co., and distributed by American Toy Co. The toy consists of a man on a ladder who is holding a yellow screen sieve. A hand-cranked chain pulley assembly is mounted at the top of two vertical posts. The chain pulley moves two gray buckets from a red tin sand box at the toy base up and around the top pulley, and empties sand from the buckets into the sieve. The top surface of the base is painted yellow and the sides are painted dark blue. The man's uniform and shoes are painted blue and his hat is black. The sand box, pulley assembly, and vertical support posts are painted red.
