Trophy
One trophy for "The McMaster's Cup." The trophy has an oval-shaped, 3-tiered, varnished walnut base with engraved brass plates attached along the perimeter of the center tier. An octagonal-shaped, polished marble slab is mounted on the top tier and a large brass trophy cup is mounted on top of the marble. The top of the cup has a winged female figure that is holding a torch in her upraised hands. Small brass ship propellers are mounted on top of the center tier of the walnut base on either side of the cup. The center engraved brass plate shows "The McMaster's Cup for Annual First Arrival, Detroit, Michigan, St. Lawrence Seaway Opening." Adjacent plates commemorate the date, ship name, captain's name, and shipping company name for the first foreign ship to arrive at the Port of Detroit in the Spring of the year. The engraved plates cover the years 1968 through 1979. A separate large engraved brass plate gives more details about the history of the Cup.
