Aaron DeRoy Memorial Trophy
For Fastest Heat Championship
Trophy. Powerboat racing trophy entitled "Aaron DeRoy Memorial Trophy For Fastest Heat Championship." The trophy is made of walnut with a circular pedestal base and central column along with inscribed silver plate plaques and decorative silver plate sculptures. (The decorative sculpture at the top of the trophy is missing.) A removable silver plate inscription ring rests on the upper portion of the base. This ring has inscriptions of the names and dates of trophy winners from 1937 to 1939 and from 1946 to 1954. The trophy was not awarded from 1940 to 1945 during World War II. A silver plate sculpture of four different powerboats rests on the top portion of the base just above the inscription ring. (This sculpture is loose and is not attached to the walnut base.) The central column has four silver plate inscription plaques around the perimeter. One of these plaques shows the name of the trophy. Two other plaques show the names and dates of trophy winners from 1955 to 1962. The fourth plaque is blank. Some of the trophy winners included Guy Lombardo, Bill Muncey, Bill Stead, and Chuck Thompson.
