University of Michigan (Bachelor of Philosophy class of 1899); law school (LLB 1901)

1901 -- joined Detroit bar. Joined Dickinson, Warren & Warren. Stayed on with successors, Dickinson, Stevenson, Cullen, Waren & Bretzel.
1904 -- started in own practice with Warren Choate (Choate & Webster).
1909 -- two partners admitted (Choate, Webster, Robertson & Lehmann. Large and lucrative practice until Nov 1, 1912.
Aug 6, 1912 -- Webster appointed US District Attorney by Taft.
1916 -- Retried from government service and took up private practice in law.
Nov 6, 1917 -- Appointed by Governor Sleeper to fill unexpired cer. ct. Judge Van Zile who had died.
Jan 1, 1918 -- entered own 6 year term (elected April 1917).
