Digital scan of a black and white photo overlooking the construction of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel within an excavated area on the site for the tunnel's Detroit terminal, as taken from a point above Bates Street facing northeast. A curved portion of the tunnel extends from the lower right corner of the frame to the top. Framing along the sides of its trench support it. Woodbridge Street runs along the upper left corner of the frame. The sign for J.T. Wing and Company is visible beside one of the doors on the north side of the street. "Detroit & Canada Tunnel - Section 5; Construction Work in Terminal Block - front West (#3 of 5); May 11, 1929, 8B-62," was handwritten on the verso.
