Digital scan of a sepia-toned photo of a pair of Mark R. Hanna Company steam shovels excavating the trench for the Detroit Windsor Tunnel at the northeast corner of the site of the Detroit terminal taken facing the northwest. One steam shovel is in the trench and the other is above it on the left. A wooden ramp extends from the bottom for the frame. Buildings along the north side of Woodbridge Street are in the background. "Detroit & Canada Tunnel - Section 5; Looking into Cut for Section 5B - from Franklin Street; May 11, 1929, 8B-66," was handwritten on the verso.
