Image, Digital
Digital scan of a black and white photo of a long row of cars lined up on around the ramp approaching the Detroit entrance of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel stretching onto Woodbridge Street, as taken from an elevated position across Atwater Street, facing north. The service building is on the right side of the frame. The unloading platform and building for the inspection of bus passengers from Canada is on the right. The tower of the Wayne County Building is in the background to the left of the center, and the A. Krolik and Company Building is on the right.
A note that was included with the photo read:
October 1, 1945
This is another photograph of Woodbridge Street showing cars lined up as far back as you can see by reason of insufficient inspection lanes in Windsor to clear the traffic, only four inspection lanes out of an available ten were operating.
