All of the men are wearing suits and are observing the man at the center of the image who is cutting the ribbon. Henry D. Brown, the museum director, is standing in the front row at the at the far left. The other persons are probably Detroit Edison representatives, museum officials, or city officials. A sign in the background shows "The Detroit Edison Company."
