Black and white film negative of the bow of MISS THRIFTWAY taken after it was damaged in the 1956 Gold Cup Race on the Detroit River. Several crew members can be seen inspecting the damage and attempting to repair it. The boat ran in every heat and won the race. In the background is the bow of U-88 (MISS B & I), which did not qualify for the race. Picture was taken from the Detroit shoreline in the pits located at the foot of Burns Avenue.
