Black and white film negative of NOTRE DAME (background) at the 1963 Gold Cup Race on the Detroit River. The boat in the foreground is MISS THRIFTWAY, which went dead at the start after getting caught in the roostertails of the other boats. Col. Warner Gardner was the driver of NOTRE DAME and Bill Muncey drove MISS THRIFTWAY. The Belle Isle shoreline can be seen in the background.
