Black and white negative of NOTRE DAME (in the foreground), taken during the final heat of the 1965 Spirit of Detroit Race on the Detroit River on August 29th. MISS U.S. 5 can be seen (in the background) in pursuit, entering the upper turn, with a fleet of spectator boats at the left and the east end of Belle Isle at the right. NOTRE DAME finished third and MISS U.S. 5 finished fourth in the race.
