Large format photographic negative of an aerial view of the American Car and Foundry Company plant along Ferry Street and Russell Street, as taken facing the northeast. Ferry runs from the lower left corner of the photo to the center of the right edge of frame. Russell runs from right of center of the bottom edge of frame to the center of the left edge. Grand Trunk Railroad lines curve from the left edge from frame to the right. Beside them, Grand Trunk Railroad lines run from the right edge of frame toward the upper left corner. The American Radiator Company works stand in the background on the left half of the top edge of frame. "Fairchild Aerial Surveys, Inc. N.Y.C." is printed in the lower right corner of the negative. The negative was previously housed within a manila sleeve, printed with a partially filled in form including the fields "Neg. No. 95941," "Date: 7-30-47," "Title: American Car & Foundry Co.," and "Location: Detroit, Mich."
