Negative, Film

Negative and print of a color photo of Broadway Street facing southeast from Witherell Street. An incomplete segment of the People Mover track stands on the right with pylons built to support the missing segments. The out-of-date marquee for shuttered Grand Circus Theater, still advertising its final concert on December 5, 1984--Motörhead, Merciful Fate, and Exciter--is on the east side of the street. Among the storefronts on the west side of the street are an adult theater, a party store, Simmons and Clark Jewelers, and Cambridge Business School. "Since 1897 - The Home of Hartz Vitamins and Surgical Appliances," is painted on the side of the Hartz Building. The Wurlitzer Building is at the end of the block. The Broadway-Randolph mural on the side of the Lafer Building is near the center of the frame. Another photographer stands near the lower left.
