Black and white negative film taken during time trials on June 24th for the 1968 Gold Cup Race, to be held on June 30th on the Detroit River. The picture shows referee Bill Newton at left with driver Jack Regas. High winds forced postponement of the race until September 8th. Regas, who was driver of the NOTRE DAME, was injured in a race at Seattle and did not drive the boat in September.
