Black and white negative, taken during the third heat of the 1966 Gold Cup Race on the Detroit River when MISS SMIRNOFF flipped over. This picture, taken seconds after the accident, shows only the bow of MISS SMIRNOFF above the surface of the water. It sank beneath the surface seconds later.
