Black and white negative of the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter which came to rescue Chuck Thompson, taken during the third heat of the 1966 Gold Cup Race on the Detroit River when MISS SMIRNOFF flipped over. MISS BUDWEISER with driver Bill Brow standing on her deck can be seen behind the helicopter. MISS BUDWEISER had been along side of MISS SMIRNOFF at the start of the heat when the accident occurred and driver Brow had circled around to offer assistance.
