Black and white negative of MISS U.S. receiving the checkered flag in the first heat at the 1966 Gold Cup Race on the Detroit River. The boat, driven by Bill Muncey, finished the heat in fourth place, but was badly damaged after hitting a wave, and was done racing for the day. In the picture their is a hole in the forward deck and the entire rear cowling and tail fin are missing.
