Black and white negative taken of the pits at the 1965 Spirit of Detroit Race on the Detroit River, which were then located at the foot of Burns Avenue near the Whittier Hotel. SUCH CRUST IV can be seen at the right, ready to be lowered into the water, with MISS U.S. 5, also ready to be lowered with driver Roy Duby on the deck in his life jacket and helmet. On shore at the left of the picture is the tail section of SAVAIR'S PROBE with MARINER TOO behind her.
