Black and white negative taken during the 1965 Spirit of Detroit Race on the Detroit River, probably the start of a heat, as three boats head toward the starting line. Pictured are MISS BUDWEISER (foreground), driven by Chuck Hickling, and TAHOE MISS (background), driven by Chuck Thompson, who was the eventual winner of the race. A third boat is between the two is obscured by their roostertails. The upper turn and the Belle Isle shoreline can be seen in the background.
