Negative. Black and white negative of a print which shows Joe Louis holding an instrument against a motor block and reboring device at the opening of the Chicago School of Automotive Trades, of which he was president. He is dressed in a white overcoat of the style that would be worn by a machinist. He is wearing a field service cap that is printed in light-colored text that shows "[?] Parts Headquarters, Major Motor Supply Co., 958 W. 79th St., ST 3-1818." Miss Vada Schwader, his former teacher in Detroit, looks on in the background. Dated Dec 7, 1948.
