Monochromatic glass plate negative taken of the Eddy-Shaw Transportation Company freighter CITY OF BANGOR as it travels along a channel between two narrow tree-covered strips of land, taken from aboard another boat off of its port bow. Another freighter is visible in the distance. The railing of the photographer's boat and the elbow and head of another person aboard are visible in the foreground at the lower left. A handwritten note on the envelope which previously housed the plate recorded that this was taken prior to the freighter's lengthening in 1904.
