Monochromatic glass plate negative taken of the side-launch of the City of Detroit Fire Department fire tug JAMES BATTLE into a slip on the grounds of the Detroit Shipbuilding Company, as taken from the opposite side of the canal off of the boat's starboard bow. Water splashes around the tug. Scaffolding supporting tracks and a crane stands in the background.
