Negative, glass-plate. Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha taken of a photograph of the starboard side of the Chicago Navigation Company freighter JAMES S. DUNHAM, under steam. Several crew members are on the flying bridge, two others stand near the door of the forward cabin, and one more stands near the aft cabin. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background.
