Negative, Glass-plate

Negative, glass-plate. Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the port side of the Pittsburgh Steamship Company freighter SIR WILLIAM FAIRBAIRN, under steam. Two crew members are near the pilothouse, two more are near the cabin at midship, and a group is near the aft cabin and stern. A line extends off frame from the stern of the freighter, suggesting that it is tugging something. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "After 1915" was handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previous held the plate.
