Negative, Glass-plate
Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the port side of the Valley Steamship Company freighter G. J. GRAMMER, under steam. A large "B," decorates its smoke stack, representing Valley's manager W. H. Becker. A man stands outside the pilot house door, and several other figures are gathered near the aft cabin. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "Becker S.S. Cleveland," "#86610," and "Renamed ADAM E. CORNELIUS JR., Renamed TROY H. BROWNING," were handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previously housed the plate.
