Negative, Glass-plate

Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the bow and starboard side of the Lackawanna Steamship Company freighter HEMLOCK, under steam. Several figures are on deck, including one who is straddling the railing outside of the pilot house to ring or polish the bell. Factories, docks, and a church are visible along the nearby shoreline in the background. "Lackawanna S.S.," was handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previously held the plate.
